The Two Day Shakedown

On Thursday December 1st, DOC spent $18K to shakedown two units. DOC brought extra guards in by the buss load! Literally. The first unit they hit was G UNIT. The dog program is in that unit. So at about 10 am, a guard brought me Sam from G UNIT. Sam is a two … Continue reading The Two Day Shakedown

STONE CATCHERS: The Alchemist (part 3)

Wow! What a book! I just finished it. In the back I found Paulo Coelho's blog site: paulocoelhoblog.com. I've decided to reach out to Mr. Coelho. I'll share what I wrote to him. But first, I'd like to share a few more quotes from "The Alchemist." These quotes really touched me and … Continue reading STONE CATCHERS: The Alchemist (part 3)

STONE CATCHERS: The Alchemist (part 2)

As you may recall, when I first started to read this book I wanted to throw it against the wall and then roll over and go to sleep. But I refrained and gave it a chance. And boy am I glad I did. This book is giving me things that I'll keep for … Continue reading STONE CATCHERS: The Alchemist (part 2)

STONE CATCHERS: The Alchemist (part 1)

This book has me conflicted. The message is great. But the delivery of the message sucks. This hike symbolizes my commitment and devotion. There will be peaks and valleys along the way on this trip, just as in our life together. Most of our communication is virtual right now (emails, blogging, social media, etc.). I just feel like I need to do something physical to make this marriage feel more real to me.

My 17th NA Meeting

This book is awesome! I'm talking about the NA book, sixth edition. I can literally flip it open to any random page, and find something practical and useful. I randomly flipped it open to page 19. As I read, I thought to myself, "This was the wrong page to flip to." I was … Continue reading My 17th NA Meeting

Engaging In Meaningful Activities Is Crucial To A Healthy Lifestyle

Now that I'm learning a little about Occupational Therapy, I feel like it's giving me a deeper, richer, more thorough understanding of life in general. I reflect back to my days of crime and misconduct, and I see direct parallels to the fact that I had zero to very little meaningful activities in my … Continue reading Engaging In Meaningful Activities Is Crucial To A Healthy Lifestyle
